When RTH turns into a rescue mission in Arizona's treacherous Superstition Mountains - an unplanned demonstration of DJI's legendary build quality
Flying near the iconic Praying Hands rock formation when failsafe RTH kicked in at the worst possible moment. The Avata 2 slammed straight into the rocks and plummeted 60 feet down the mountain.
A small palo verde tree broke the fall just enough to save it from total destruction. What followed was a sketchy mountain rescue, climbing up wondering if I was retrieving a brick or a working drone.
Zero damage. Zero issues. The end of the video shows it flying perfectly in my house like nothing happened. The Superstitions tried to claim another victim, but the Avata 2 said "not today."
